Tuxford Stroy was an Elaborate Hoax

It has been revealed tonight that yesteday's big story regarding council meeting minutes was actually a deviously cunning practical joke, writes Robin Peterson. The minutes were supposedly provided by Ms Pauline YerLegason. It has since come to light that in fact Ms YerLegason made up the minutes herself during a coffee break. Bath Council have released the following statement to the media:

"The minutes published in a local evening newspaper" (that's us!!!) "yesterday, were entirely ficticious in nature. The council had no knowledge of their existance. Furthermore, their content is a mis-representation of genuine council meetings. We admit that just about everything that could go wrong has gone wrong in Bath over the last couple of months but the council would like to stress that they have made this village rubbish ENTIRELY BY MISTAKE. There was no prior plan to make everything rubbish, that's just the sad reality of the way things have turned out. The council shall be taking legal action against both Ms YerLegason and the local paper in question."

Meanwhile, this story has been making the headlines nationally. Pictures of Ms YerLegason appear on the front page of all the tabloids and as this paper goes to print, a sea of photographers are camped outside her Bath home. The whole affair has caught the imagination of the country and it has really put the village on the map (which is ironic really as Ordnance Survey officially removed Bath from theirs yesterday afternoon).
