Police Shut Down Gazette Scandal

Sensational news coming in this evening (just for a change) suggests that the Bath Evening Gazette will be closed down for two weeks while detectives gather evidence for the Pauline YerLegason trial, writes Robin Peterson. Police want to question bosses and journalists at the Bath based evening newspaper about how they came to publish fake minutes that suggested the council was conspiring to make the village more rubbish. The investigation could result in the permanent closure of the paper of the year. The Gazette will be allowed to cover the trial itself which starts in 14 days. This time gap is completely unassociated with a particular exam timetable belonging to an anonymous student at the University of York.

Elsewhere in Bath tonight, police have released details of a locally based female criminal who pilfers novelty pens inscribed with names of famous tourist attractions. The woman, dubbed "Super Stealer" by the authorities due to her agility, dexterity and cunning has struck over three hundred times in the last week and is now believed to be operating on a national level. Police warn that the thief appears to have a particular preference for zoologically oriented novelty pens. Local old man, Grumpy Grumperson told us exclusively, "they'll nick the shirt off yer back, they will these days - I don't know".
