Chapter One
(And the others lost)
As dawn broke, and the pieces were picked up and put back together again, there was a horrendous earthquake. Taku had woken, and moved his head, causing the earth to shudder violently, which was useful in a kind of way, cos although it put their lives in danger, it did at least wake them up.
They got dressed, and Anthony bet Jenny that Luke's shirt wouldn't - couldn't - be as bad as the pinky-yellow Oxfam one he wore the day before. He lost - Luke came out sporting a most revolting purple and green shirt in shiny stripes.
Suddenly everyone lost their appetite for breakfast, and felt sick. Luke offered to change it, but the others couldn't bear the thought of seeing two of his shirts on the same day.
After they's emptied the buckets, they set off in anticipation of adventure, heading north under Anthony's able navigation. Soon, Anthony turned the compass the right way up, got kicked very hard in the shins by Jenny, and Taku took over Anthony's job. They were unfortunately now heading straight towards the sun, and would have been dazzled, but since Taku was leading, they all walked in his shadow, so there wasn't a problem.
