Chapter Four

(Why skiving can be good for you)

In the real cliff-hanger, without safety ropes, at the end of the last chapter, we heard how the heros (?) were going to be tortured - or is that buggered - to death by Bozzard, cheered on King Alex. But he hadn't noticed that one of them was missing. Jimmy, being as eager to go anywhere as someone standing on a landmine, had skived, and sat on the bed eating Jenny's shocolate and trying to work out how he could stop looking like Mike Strelley. As he'd almost finished the chocolate, King Alex's niece (by marriage, she hastens to add), who was staying with th king for the week, burst through the doorway (luckily the door was open, or she might have hurt herself) to tell Jimmy that his friends were in danger, and Anthony, Steve, Yaku and Luke were in danger too.

Together, they headed towards the captives, and Susan karate-kicked the door down, while Jimmy ran in, rugby-tackled the king into the wall, sent Bozzard unconscious with a flying kick, and single-handedly untied the prisoners and carried them to safety.

No, that's not right, sorry:

Together, the headed toweards the captives, and Susan unlocked the door and opened it for Jimmy, who, not feeling inclined to run, walked in to challenge the king. Bozzard, not fearful in the least, ran at Jimmy with his kickboxing skills, but since these were, frankly, crap, he missed, hit the king (who flew against the wall and blacked out), then had an asthma attack and collapsed on the floor from the excitement. A big cheer went up, partly for Susan, partly for Jimmy, but mainly because lots of money had fallen out of the king's pockets all over the floor.

Feeling safer, braver, and one hell of a lot richer, they left (except for Taku, who right cos he couldn't remember which was which) and followed their noses (well, they followed Jenny's anyway) towards their next adventure.
