Chapter Seven
(...and hello again)
Having paused for the change of chapters, they finished their climb, and found themselves at the entrance to the castle. They knocked on the door, and a fuzzy-haired man came to open it - "Hello there," he said, and invited them in.
Unfortunately, as Sarah walked in, Stephen, who had a talent for pissing around, knocked into her arm, and her hand hit the castle wall. Which wouldn't have been a problem, except that this was a Sandy Castle, and Sarah's nails went straight through the wall. This caused a sudden hurricane, which blew them all back down the mountain, and sent Luke's notes all over the place.
During the next five hours, while they all picked the notes up, and Luke arranged them all back into their plastic pockets, Anthony noticed the back of one of the sheets: Maths Prep - revise for test on measurements. This was a wonderful thing, partly because they'd found the third answer, partly because they didn't have to do any work, but mainly because it meant that Luke would piss off and revise for the whole evening, and they could stop shielding their eyes from his terrible clothes.
Stephen and Taku went off somewhere so that Stephen could practise his art, by making a sculpture of Taku. When he'd finished, unfortunately, he found he had to destroy it, because he realised it was already copyright, under the name Mr Potato Head.
In another corner, Luke was trying some sample questions: [The full test has now been published, and can be found in all good bookshops]
1a) VOLUME: What is the volume of Taku's head? (give your answer to the nearest km3)
b) DENSITY: How dense is Stephen? (give reasons for your answer)
Meanwhile, Jenny, Jimmy, Sarah and Anthony had plenty to drink and then had a game of strip poker. Not surprisingly perhaps, Anthony was losing with ease. After only a short time, he was down to his last line of defence. He lost again, so discarded the last piece of clothing, and, keel over and die from the shock, what should fall out, but the fourth, and penultimate thing, the ball of cotton wool.
Cheered up, (except for Luke who was going on about ethics in card games), they fell asleep in laughter. (Well, Anthony didn't, but the rest all found it funny.)
