The Trial - Day Two

By Robin Peterson at the Old Barley.

The second day of the YerLegason court case passed with unusually little incident. The court heard mostly about the judge's problems with hot weather. Other highlights were:

Judge Taylor: Now it's time for a break, (to camera) see you in 3.
APPLAUSE
Judge Taylor: For those of you in the public gallery, I present our ad break entertainers!
WILD CHEERS AND APPLAUSE

At this point, new sensational pop duo Britney Spears and Lindsay Collins appear from behind the dock. In a 3 minute blaze of song and dance, the duo perform their latest hit 'Oops, I went to Bath Again' to the delight of a packed gallery. Miss Collins' recorder accompaniment performed whilst simultaneously Irish dancing probably stole the show. Normality was restored on the resumption of TV coverage.

As for any progress in the actual trial, well that will come mostly over the next couple of days when Ms YerLegason takes the stand. Today the main debate was would England beat Romania in the evening. Defence man Alan said that England would win five nil while Ms Oxbridge predicted that Romania would win 3-2 with a second last minute penalty completing a comeback from 2-1 down at half time after a goal from Owen and a penalty from Shearer would appear to send England on their way. We shall have to wait and see who's nearest.

Other news today and the government is considering legislation to ban frisbee following a spate of near fatal accidents in the Bath area and beyond. Citizens are being advised to use a frisbee only in a desperate emergency.
