Part Three

So Ian, having had such a filling meal of tea and cake, decided to go to bed and try again in the morning.

And then he went to bed, and after an hour or two decided that perhaps going to sleep now he was there would be a better idea still.

So next morning, awake and refreshed, he headed for the town, which flattered the town - even though it had no idea why Ian was heading for it, it still seemed like a kind gesture.

Once he was there, he decided that it would be a good idea to go to the library and see if he could find a map which would have the land of nod in it. So he did, and went out of the town, since he had realised the library was not in the town at all, so he had headed for no reason.

So after a while he reached the library and went in to be greeted by the smiling librarian, who reminded Ian that he had two books three months overdue - Mr Strong and Little Miss Clever. Ironically, they were the only times you could use those adjectives in the same sentence as Ian.

When the librarian, Mr Kel Ever, had realised that he hadn't got the books, but had come in to read some maps, he was faintly suprised, since Ian had difficulty reading books, let alone maps. But nevertheless, he got the map of the world down for Ian to scrutinise. Ian unfortunately didn't know what scrutinise meant, so he just had a hard look for an hour or so. And then the girl he was trying to impress left the library, so he gave up with his hard look, and started looking for the land of nod on the map instead.

He looked for quite a while, but in the end had to give up, for it was nowhere to be seen. So he gave the map back to the librarian, and left for home. Then he remembered that the librarian was a particularly clever sort of bloke, so perhaps he might know where the land of nod was.

Ian went back into the library and asked Kel. "Do you know where the land of nod is, Kel?"

"Yes, indeed I do know," said Kel "It is...
